Commissioned a second lieutenant of field artillery upon graduation from West Point in 1970. Transferred to The Judge Advocate General’s Corps upon graduation from law school in 1975. Served in various military legal assignments including trial attorney, 3d Armored Division; Associate Professor of Law, The Judge Advocate General’s School; Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, 82nd Airborne Division; and Chief, Medical Malpractice and Tort Law Branch, U.S. Army Litigation Division, The Pentagon. In the latter assignment, Mr. Gasperini was responsible from 1986 to 1990 for the defense of all medical malpractice claims against the United States Army.

Retired from the U.S. Army in 1990 as a lieutenant colonel.
Entered private law practice representing victims of medical negligence arising out of military and VA hospitals.

Notable Engagements

  • Has successfully prosecuted more than 250 major military medical malpractice claims against the United States, collecting millions of dollars on behalf of veterans, retirees, and military dependents. Cases prosecuted have included complex medical malpractice actions involving surgical errors, birth injuries, and failure to diagnose cancer.
